Our History

Nearly a century ago,

CMN was founded by aviation pioneer Félix Amiot, who decided to redirect his career towards shipbuilding and apply the codes of aviation – speed, lightness and stealth – to ships.

Over the decades, CMN built up an international reputation with its emblematic ship “La Combattante”, a fast surface vessel equipped with a highly sophisticated defence system.

Faced with the emergence of new territorial defence issues, CMN has stepped up its research programme to develop new products even faster.

In keeping with its reputation as a pioneer, CMN recently met a major challenge in terms of innovation and performance by making the fastest interceptor in its category, the HSI 32, autonomous. But that’s not all…
