From 1968

At end of the 60’s, CMN begins building the "Combattante" fast patrol boat series. The first ones being built in the Western World.

In 1969 the aftermath of media coverage on the famous “Cherbourg missile boat”, which surreptitiously left Cherbourg for ISRAEL in spite of the French government embargo, gave much publicity to CMN

The 60's and 70's were CMN golden age.  Every year between 1966 and 1981, 8 to 10 vessels are built which represent 40% of the world-wide patrol boats' market.

In 1987, CMN is not spared from the shipbuilding crisis. Société Financière De Rosario, the new of owner, does an important reorganisation within CMN, in order to maintain most of its industrial and commercial organisation.

CMN, in partnership with the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), builds a new prototype vessel : The Agnes 200 - Surface Effect Ship (SES).

In 1992, the Société Financière DE ROSARIO sells the companies SAMT and CMN to SOFFIA (Société Financière Française pour l'Industrie de l'Armement) formed by Mr. André Ravier, Contrôleur Général des Armées (CR), Chairman of SAMT and Managing Director of CMN since 1990, Mr. Ravier also becomes Chairman of SOFFIA.

CMN re-gains successfully its place among the world leaders of shipbuilding by building 2 patrol boats PSSP for the French Navy, 4 oceanographic vessels for Indonesia, 3 "Vigilante CL54" (type P400) for the Sultanate of Oman, 6 interceptors for Yemen and 8 "Combattante BR42" for Kuwait Navy.

CMN wants to diversify.  Using its expertise in military craft, CMN undertakes the successful  refit of the leisure vessels "French Look", "Daad" or "Ananta" which leads CMN to building the passengers boat "VINDILIS" as well as yachts such as "Le Ponant", "L'Antartica" or the "Friday Star".

In 2000 a new chapter begins in CMN 's history with the creation of a Yacht Division.

In 2001, Mr. André Ravier handed over the chairmanship of the CMN group to Mr. Pierre Balmer.
