Training

The modern warships built by CMN are very sophisticated and complex. The ability of the client’s personnel to correctly operate and maintain such vessels is of paramount importance to operational success.

CMN Support Services Limited provides highly qualified instructors, many of whom are former naval personnel with long experience in training international navies.

This depth of expertise ensures that the highest standards of training are provided to the personnel of the clients of CMN.

Training is based at dedicated training centres at the CMN shipyard in Cherbourg, where there is also a purpose built accommodation centre for the client’s personnel. The main CMN training facility is located within the Cherbourg shipyard. Courses are also provided in technical colleges in the United Kingdom or in France and at the training facilities of our major equipment suppliers. Harbour and sea training is given in completed ships and tactical operational training may also be provided.

Training programmes are individually designed to meet the clients needs and provide the precise level of training. Separate course programmes are developed to meet the operational and maintenance requirements of the ships crews and base maintainers.

Continuation training programmes can also be provided in Europe or in the client’s own country. Such programmes can also be included in a Transfer of Technology programme, which would include shipbuilding and repair.

The CMN Support Services Training programmes are extremely broad based and flexible and can be changed to meet the clients needs.
They can cover all aspects of shipbuilding, ship repair and engineering. Assistance can also be given in the areas of recruit selection and assessment, naval instructor training and management training and development.
